Partners Board of Directors Meetings:

 

The Partners for Smart Growth Board of Directors meet on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Meeting are currently held at 7:30 am in the United Bank Board Room.

  

Quarterly Open Meetings:

 

Our first Open meeting of 2013 was held on Thursday, March 7, 2013. The featured speaker, Eugene James, Atlanta Regional Director of MetroStudy, presented excellent information tregarding the housing market. His message was good news/bad news for Butts County housing. However, bsed on the data and trends which he captures and studies, the housing market and our economy is  on a slow but steady road of improvement.

 

The first second quarter open meeting will be held on April 18, 2013. Buddy Costley, Superintendent of Butts County Schools will present the cost cutting plan adopted by the Board of Education for FY 13-14. The education of our youth is the key to our future. Please plan to attend, to learn about the issues and needs facing our school system and commit support to the educating of the youth of Butts County.

 

 

Our next second quarter open meeting will be held on Thursday, May 16th, 11:30am at the Jackson United Methodist Church. Speaker will be Lt. Governor Casey Cagle presenting Georgia's Stragetic Plan and the Role of Butts County.

 

 

 

Annual Community Celebrity Roast:

Partner’s 2013 “Celebrity Roast” will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 7 PM, at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Stark. Local media legends Don Earnhart & Walter Carmichael will be our celebrities. Byrd Garland and Ed Hoard will turn the split with tales about Don & Walter from childhood to adult. Don & Walter will also
entertain as they re-create hilarious moments from the famous WJGA 92.1 FM morning shift changes. In addition to the laughs, JHS performing arts students, the Dazzling Devils, will entertain and the 2013 Partners for Smart Growth Scholarship recipient (s) will be recognized.
