Our Mission is to promote balanced and responsible growth in Butts County, Georgia.
Partners for Smart Growth was formed in the Spring of 2007 by a group of individuals, businesses and professional leaders interested in the future of our community. Realizing that Butts County is on the cusp of fast growth, these leaders want to assure our community avails itself of economic growth opportunities while maintaining its rural character and small town atmosphere.
This group is not a political action committee nor a lobbying group. We have simply joined hands as community leaders and business persons to offer assistance to our county leaders and decision-makers in ensuring that our county grows by design and not by default.
The three avenues through which we work are education, information and association. We attempt to educate ourselves and our elected leaders through quarterly luncheons featuring guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields as related to smart growth. We seek to inform our partners and community leaders through a monthly newsletter featuring articles about smart growth and newsworthy events and projects here in Butts County. We attend all Jackson City Council and Butts County Commission meetings and provide our partners with email report of any actions that relate to smart growth. And we associate through periodic “members only” meetings where we network and plan projects that we believe will move our county forward.
We are always on the look-out for like-minded business persons and community leaders to partner with us.
